About Ludo Police

My name is Julie Smith-Belton and I am a wife to my incredible Rory whose smiley face makes my face smile. I’m a graphic designer turned mom to our 4 gorgeous children who fill my life with much love and laughter. I love designing, creating, decorating, sewing, drawing, painting, baking with my kids and taking photos. I use a Canon 60D with a 50mm f/1.4 lens and a 17-85mm f/4-5.6 lens.

Home is wherever and whenever I am with my family, which at the moment is in Durban (SA). I love our beautiful country and I’d love to travel and see more beautiful countries. In between my fine art and graphic design studies, I spent some time studying to be a chef. I love having people in our home for spontaneous visits, braais, home made sushi and late night card games. We dream of a life of adventure where we colour outside the lines and of a day when we can pack the kids into the car and go off on a wild adventure (minus a lot of unnecessary stuff). “It is in all of us to defy expectations, to go into the world and to be brave and to want, to need, to hunger for adventure, to embrace change and chance and risk so that we may breathe and know what it is to be free.” (a quote I found on pinterest that makes my heart leap inside me)

I started this blog after Rory and I started dreaming of a family adventure as a place to document and see our dreams come true, as an outlet for creativity, a place to share my inspirations and my photography and random bits of work and best of all to collect & share some of our special family moments and stories. I hope to hear from other people who feel inspired to take time to chase their dreams.

I love to feel inspired and to inspire others. I get my ideas, energy and inspiration from the ultimate creator, Jesus, and from seeing other people express their unique creativity and be who they were made to be.

I love to hear from you so please email, send pics, make comments etc.

  2. Hi Julie,
Oooh my word, when I saw the doll you made of my dad I actually jumped out of my chair with excitement!!
Please would I be able to order one from you?
I am his only child and what greater thing for a child to have than a doll of their dad 😀 Wow!
I look forward to hear from you,

    Anita Cruywagen 🙂

  3. Hi Julie!

Your blog reminded me to dream big and to pursue my dreams. It reminded me where to look for inspiration and also to live a life less complicated. It showed me that I have been dragging myself down with excuses and excess baggage. Thank you for these reminders…I will be digging deep and casting my eyes upwards!

    Blessings
    Angeleque
